My album of 2011...

Media_httpwwwharderbl_jejoz

If I had to pick a top album from last year, I'd probably go with SebastiAn's debut. We'd been waiting along time for this LP and it didn't disappoint.

Here's the x-rated promo video which might just make you puke! Enjoy :)

Prey Works!

Media_httppreyproject_clfhu

Just recently I've switched mobile phone networks and I've had to switch SIMs. Having had an Android phone for the past two years, I've come accustom to the huge number of apps which enhance your mobile experience. An app which I installed a long time ago and had completely forgotten about was 'Prey'.

Prey is a security app which will alert you if your phone is stolen and will help you track it's whereabouts. It not only works for Android and iOS, but Windows, Mac and Linux laptops too. It can be triggered in a number of ways. I had it set up to start tracking and make an insane amount of noise if anyone were to replace the SIM card (exactly what I was attempting to do!)

So, as I put in my new SIM card, the alarm started blaring and a notification came up on the screen to tell the unsuspecting 'thief' that the phone was stolen and is being tracked. An email notification was also sent to me to tell me Prey had been activated and shortly after my first report came in.

The report shows you a pretty accurate map of where you phone is located and shows the IP address the phone can be found on. You can set the reports to collect what data you want and at which intervals you'd like.

I'm pretty happy with how it worked. If I were to loose my phone or if it were stolen, I'd be able to trigger the reports through the web interface or via SMS. The phone will send data back to you and it can lock your phone and leave a message to help your phone get back to you.

I'd definitely recommend.

Colwyn Bay Pier: A Sorry State

It's a shame to think this place once hosted the likes of Motorhead, The Damned, Siouxie & The Banshees, Elvis Costello, Slade, Budgie, The Specials, Jackie Wilson, Madness, Cockney Rejects.

Can I get a K+ for the G+, Yo?

Klout now measures Google+

Whether you're a fan of Klout - the service which asserts itself as the measure of social influence - or not, it's constantly expanding into every network possible.

Klout now attempts to measure people's influence on Google+. Which is amazing, giving the infancy of the platform.

I still feel the majority of the measurement comes from interaction on Twitter: No matter how many networks I link or take away, the score stays the same (provided Twitter is still connected). Maybe that's just because it's my strongest presence.

So, If you're a lover or a hater of sticking a number on your social presence, at least it's something. I do monitor my Klout score but make sure I take it with a bucket of salt and try not to live by it. If anything, it's a good base to work from.

What's your Klout score? Does it matter to you?

Hootsuite for Android Now Supports LinkedIn

Hootsuite for Android

That trusty little Owl that I use to manage my social profiles on-the-go just got even better: Hootsuite for Android now supports LinkedIn.

To get started, you can just add your LinkedIn profile within the app. Or, if you have it setup on the Hootsuite Dashboard, just re-sync your account and it'll now show up.

This will be great for keeping up with and sharing with your LinkedIn connections. I haven't had a chance to test it out fully (to see how links post etc) but I'll give it a go over the next few days and let you know how I get on.

Other notable updates to the Android application include various bug fixes and auto-completion of Twitter usernames and Hashtags. Again, I haven't had a run through with this but will keep you posted. Enjoy!

Proof That People Really Don't Get Facebook Places

S73f0098

Apologies for moaning but how is this useful to anyone? There are some ridiculous 'places' which are availiable for me to check-in to. Do the people who created these places realise that anyone can see them?

S73f0097

Comon examples include variations on 'my bed' and 'home'. I've even seen a place named 'the coldest place on earth'. Really?
